Seniorstrummer was created by Ralph Barhydt, a former tech exec and budding new guitar player. Ralph played clarinet and tenor sax in high, forming a dance band in his senior year. He since has learned to play piano, took advanced clarinet lessons, and sung in choral groups.
He is deeply appreciative of music in his life. Ralph married and musical woman, concert level pianist and vocalist and his two daughters played violin growing up. In his late 70s, he took up baritone ukulele and then guitar. “Most challenging instrument I have ever learned to play,” he says.Yet, he maintains that learning to play guitar and re-fired his brain and his enthusiasm for life. All the time he has spent learning, in person and on the internet, even with the frustration has been time well spent.
Ralph would like to help you on your journey to playing guitar. He has been through a lot and would have appreciated a little help in the begging. Not many guitar teachers. who are really good at teaching young children, especially boys know how to teach people their age and older. Most internet sites, while claiming to be aimed at beginners, don’t have the structure or focus to teach people on an effective path. They are great at videos teaching you riffs, songs, and advanced chord techniques, but not so good at getting you to point where you actually incorporate those techniques. You need a clear and extensive introduction and a path. We will try to provide both and provide you will information about guitars, ukuleles, teachers and learning.
God bless for you taking this path and may we help you in your journey.
